Day 75 - Impact?

Well, yes it does.

I learned a lot from these stories. It's so hard to recall all of them so I can list them. By the way, these are seen in the story mode of Dissidia Final Fantasy, the allusions created.

Can't remember the lines of Terra at the end of Destiny Odyssey VI where she talks about dreams. That is one of the impacts FF made on me.

Day 74 - Character with Similarity

Quina (FFIX)

One word. "EAT"

Day 73 - FF Game I wished Never Existed

I would say all the games in the main series that stopped using the classic system. I would say FFXI onwards. I just want the ATB system back. FF13 is crazy for having a to be continued ending. Come on! (Just see the FFXIII commentary on one of the posts.)

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Day 72 - FF Game You Plan to Play

Well, I've finished FF1 to FFX main series, FFTA, and Dissidia Final Fantasy. I am currently playing FFX-2.

Provided I got the cash to buy these, I plan to play Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, top priority.

Other games I also plan to play are Crisis Core, Dissidia 012, FFIV Interlude and The After Years, and FF3 and FF4 most recent remake. Maybe I'll play Dirge of Cerberus when I get a better laptop for the emulator.

Day 71 - Opinion on FFXIII

I watched a video on the gameplay of FF13. My opinion:

Less pressing of buttons, more watching. Press a few buttons, watch a lot of fighting sequence. Too much focus on graphics.

I don't usually care a lot about the graphics. I even finished FFX on a lagging emulator but I don't care because the gameplay is nice. I also loved how I use my fast hands especially in Zell's duel and the ATB system.

A blue ray disc not finishing the story? Shows that most of the disc space is occupied by the graphics. That's why there is 13-2 and 13-3. Come on! FFX finished it's main story on a DVD.

Just because the graphics are good does not mean it's a great game.

Talk about the classic Final Fantasy Series especially 4, 6, and 7. Don't forget 1, which started it all.

For me, Terra is the ONLY female protagonist! (Sorry Lightning, but it's true)

Day 70 - Favorite Chocobo Theme

Chocobo Jam (Final Fantasy X)

Instead of the traditional melody of chocobo, some changes were made here and it rocks!

Sunday, October 21, 2012

Day 69 - Favorite Town Theme

Cosmo Canyon (Final Fantasy VII)

The song is so relaxing. I often listen to this when I have problems and I need to calm down and relax.

Day 68 - Least Favorite Boss Battle Theme

Force Your Way (Final Fantasy VIII)

Same reason as don't be afraid. After drawing 100 spells each, eventually I'm fed up with the music.

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Day 67 - Favorite Boss Battle Theme

Battle with Gilgamesh (Final Fantasy V)

Very catchy tune. The song won't make battling just a battle. I can't wait to play this on Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

Friday, October 19, 2012

Day 66 - Least Favorite Battle Theme

Don't Be Afraid (FFVIII)

After spending too much time under this music because of drawing magic, you'll eventually get tired of this song, and maybe hate it?

This also applies to using summons with very long sequences.

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Day 63 - Character Not Supposed to be in Dissidia

Shanttoto

She doesn't even exist in the game. She's just an imaginary character. Kinda hard to use also because of low bravery depletion skills.

Monday, October 15, 2012

Day 62 - Most Attractive Character

Terra Branford

The fact that she is my favorite character in all Final Fantasy. She is my best pick in DFF. I always use her in FF6. I WILL use her first when I buy Theathrhythm Final Fantasy.

I am currently making a fan made film of FF and I made her play a great role in the story, more like the leading lady.

Other candidates would be Refia (III), Rydia (IV), Lenna (V), Celes (VI), Rinoa (VIII), and Garnet (IX). No Yuna or Rikku, blame FFX-2. But still, Terra beats them all.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

Day 61 - Disappointing Game

From FF1 to FFX, none of these disappointed me.

The game that disappointed me is FFX-2. What have they done to Yuna and Rikku? Especially Paine's Special Dressphere! It burns my eyes!

I can't react to 11, 12, 13 and 14 because I haven't played them.

Day 60 - Best Storyline

Pretty tough, but here it goes

Top 3:

VI, VII, IV

Friday, October 12, 2012

Day 59 - Saddest Character Death

1. Aerith's Death

Combine the scene with her theme song, and you'll be crying. Fighting Jenova in this song makes me lose the mood to fight... but I have to!

2. General Leo's Death

He's such a nice person. He's with the enemy, but he could still be a friend. He believed that the war is over, when in fact, he was just used to find the espers. He is powerful if he were to be a party member, but he is killed by Kefka. Too bad.

3. Galuf's Death

A pretty good character, he sacrifices himself to save his granddaughter. Krile's crying sprite makes the scene.

4. Jecht's Death

He dies, Tidus cries, and his goodbye message is "I hate you!" It's still a sad scene.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Day 58 - OMG WTF Moment

Final Fantasy VI

Terra is an esper!

I've been using Terra in my main force for healing without the need for potions, and for magic. All this time I never knew she is an esper herself... and she leaves the party! Good thing there's Celes to fill her spot.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Day 57 - Event that freaked you out

Rinoa possessed at the Lunar Base (Final Fantasy VIII)

I first saw this scene when I was young, I think I'm around 10 years old at that time. This event really scared me, thanks a lot to the background music. I just wished this scene would end immediately.

Day 56 - Saddest Event

Celes attemps suicide (Final Fantasy VI)

She is trapped in an island, and the last of the people in that island, Cid, died. Feeling that everything is gone, she attemps to kill herself by jumping off the mountain, to end her burden.

The music in this scene, Celes' theme, makes the scene even sadder, just like Aerith's death and Aerith's theme.

Sunday, October 7, 2012

Day 55 - Awkward Moment

Awkward Tidus laugh

His laugh is awkward. What makes it more awkward? Playing it in PCSX2 with a bit of lag. Makes him laugh like an idiot.

I heard that his laugh is even more awkward in the Japanese version. He laughs like a crow.

******Out of the choices: Just a special mention

Leblanc's Massage Minigame

Really awkward... especially when you turn up the sound system really loud. Thankfully I played this part alone in low volume. Really weird when someone hears that and wonders what is going on. Next time I play this I will mute the sound system and just finish this as fast as I can.

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Day 54 - LOL Moment

Locke's Scenario (Final Fantasy VI)

Locke uses steal to steal items... and clothes!

Taken from the SNES version.

Day 53 - Favorite Event

Opera - Aria de Mezzo Caraterre (Final Fantasy VI)

Celes agrees to play as Maria so they could meet up with Setzer. They need Setzer and his airship so they can go to the Empire base.

The song featured here is one of the best soundtracks in Final Fantasy and it came from the SNES era.

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Day 50 - Favorite Quote

Not just favorite quote but favorite quotes...

Celes got the best lines in the game.

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Monday, October 1, 2012

Day 48 - Least Favorite Mini Game

Tetra Master (Final Fantasy IX)

I never learned how to play this. I only know that the arrows must be pointed to a card without an interfering arrow. I don't know what the numbers or the letters meant.

I defeated the competition in Treno using Dr. Tot's cards and some luck.

Sunday, September 30, 2012

Day 47 - Favorite Mini Game

Blitzball (Final Fantasy X)

It is so addicting. Recruit players, win battles, learn new moves, obtain Wakka's overdrives, create an unbeatable team. What could be better than that?

I already got my unbeatable team. I got Tidus and Shaami for forward, Svanda for midfielder, Wedge and Naida for defense, and Miyu for goalie. I was hoping I could get Nimrook for goalie but he still doesn't retire from the Al Bhed.

I like to make them reach level 100 and that is where the real fun of Blitzball begins.

Also, Jecht Shot is a very cheap move for Tidus... I love spamming it.

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Day 46 - Favorite White Magic

Holy

I like using Double White Holy for Eiko when in Trance. It really is powerful especially to unded enemies like Lich.

In Final Fantasy X, the spell Holy, located at the end of Yuna's grid, helped me train Yuna without the need for Aeons. With the Nirvana equipped, she will be powerful even in the Omega Ruins. Holy became my main offense against the last battle with Yu Yevon, since I haven't acquired Lulu's sigil. Just be careful with reflect!

Day 45 - Favorite Black Magic

Ultima

Pierce through magic defense, can't be reflected, can't be shelled. What spell could be better than that?

It's fun using it in Final Fantasy VI. I got this Ultima team. The final battle with Kefka involved casting Ultima and Osmose, and a bit of Cure3.

It is also fun to cast in Final Fantasy VII. Quadra Magic with Mime will do the trick if you don't want the long animations of Kights of the Round.

In Final Fantasy VIII, it is the best magic to junction, giving a lot of boost to whichever stat. If equipped in Elem-Def, the player can absorb all elements.

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Day 44 - Least favorite Limit Break System

Trance (Final Fantasy IX)

You can't even decide when Trance will activate. It just activates when the bar is full, be it on a random battle or a boss battle. What's worse, it happens for a few turns only, then it's time to charge it up again.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Day 43 - Favorite Limit Break System

Final fantasy VIII Limit Break System

Why? It's unlimited! If HP is critical, Limit Break all the way! It's kinda dangerous though. Go for plan b.

Plan B: Use Aura, the Limit Break all the way.

Note: Extra fun with Renzokuken, Duel and Shot.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Day 42 - Least Favorite Limit Break

Slots - Cait Sith (Final Fantasy VII)

There are some useful combinations, yes, but there are also bad luck combinations like the Death Joker. Transformation may be useful, but is disadvantageous because you only fight as one. There is a video I found where transformation gives a game over.

***** I do not own the video *****

Monday, September 24, 2012

Day 41 - Favorite Limit Break

Duel - Zell - Final Fantasy VIII

Armageddon Fist <------- This explains it all. Works best on keyboard.

Day 40 - Least favorite "Power up your character" system

The system in Final Fantasy II (I don't know what it's called)

It only becomes effective once you get the CHNG spell (Swap in remake). It also takes long to master a spell. I can't bear losing MP and spending at the inn at the start because spells are already too expensive in the original version and I still need to buy weapons and armor. What I usually do is just have only Maria learn spells. The rest will be on full offense.

The problem in the Swap technique is... IT DOESN'T WORK IN SOUL OF REBIRTH!

Day 39 - Favorite "Power up your character" system

Junction System (Final Fantasy VIII)

It takes too long to power up your character, and yet it's the most worthy for me. The junction system works best in a low level or a no level up challenge. It's because enemies level up as you do. Just get the right spells, use mid mag rfm high mag rf, or whatever rf and you're set. In a no level game with good junction, I can take down a boss with a Renzokuken w/o the finisher move.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Day 38 - Favorite Battle System

Conditional Turn-Based Battle (Final Fantasy X)

Hey! What's the rush? You press so fast. No more! In CTB, there is no need to rush. You can also plan ahead on your actions. But this battle system makes me miss the ATB because I miss my fast hands.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Day 37 - Least Favorite Monster

Actually I got two of them.

Malboro

I hate their bad breath. A lot of status effects will give you a high chance of losing. They also are very tough.

Tonberry

I don't mind their knife ability since I can destroy them even before they use it. My problem is the Everyone's Grudge (Karma). Even a low level game in FF8, Everyone's Grudge deals more than 1000 damage. How?
I only killed boss enemies. Maybe it's related to the number of enemies hit with Card. I don't know what.

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Monday, September 17, 2012

Day 35 - Least Favorite Optional Boss

Ruby Weapon (Final Fantasy VII)

It takes too long to defeat him, and there is no break damage limit yet. To deal high amounts of damage, Knights of the Round may be used, but the long animation, and the Ultima counterattack. I used W-summon Hades w/ Quadra Magic and Knights of the Round w/ HP Absorb, Counter (blue) with Mime, Life2 w/ Final Attack and Some HP Plus, Magic Plus and Speed Plus.

How many sandwiches will I be able to make in this battle?

Day 34 - Favorite Optional Boss

Omega Weapon (Final Fantasy VIII)

He is a superboss, but he got a weakness. He uses a move pattern. Just be familiar with his moves, learn to counterattack them, and BOOM! You win. I defeated him without using invincible moon or heroes or holy wars. I used Squall, Zell and Irvine in this battle.

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Day 33 - Favorite Castle

Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy VI)

It's a high tech castle! Son of a submariner! It can initiate dive mode to hide under the sand.

Day 32 - Least Favorite Form of Transportation

Balamb Garden (Final Fantasy VIII)

It moves so slow. I got annoyed while searching for the White SEED Ship because it's slow and the destination is hard to find. I use fast forward in ePSXe whenever I ride this.

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Day 31 - Favorite Mode of Transportation

Airship! Speedy travels... well, except for Final Fantasy VIII because the Ragnarok is so slow. Too bad not all areas can be accessed with the airship. If only the gold chocobo of Final Fantasy VII moves fast, I would pick that.

Day 30 - Lest Favorite Job

Scholar (Final Fantasy III NES Version)

They literally suck. They have only one use in the game, and that is the battle with Hyne. Their attack suck, they can't use magic, and their skill is Peep, which is the Libra spell with no MP cost, since they have no MP.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Day 29 - Favorite Job

My favorite job is the warrior/fighter. It's a classic job.

"I like swords."
              -Fighter McWarrior

Day 28 - Least Favorite Summon

Eden (Final Fantasy VIII)

I don't care if she can break the damage limit and deal massive amount of damage. Watching the summon sequence is not worth the time, as I can whip up that amount of damage with limit breaks. Although the damage can't reach hers, the time used is what matters. Let's say the summon time is 72.6 seconds. How many limit breaks will I be able to execute? It might exceed the damage dealt by Eden. Eden, say hello to Lionheart, Duel, Shot, Wishing Star, Shockwave Pulsar and The End. You mad, sis?

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Day 27 - Favorite Summon

Summons started out in Final Fantasy III. They use three different attacks per summon. On the later games, most summons have a fixed attack. In Final Fantasy X, aeons have their own stats and commands, and their recurring ability falls under the overdrive (Ifrit, Shiva and Bahamut).

Here is my favorite summon:

The Magus Sisters of Final Fantasy X.

Three different aeons, summoned together, with their own turns. Overpowered, and breaks damage limit in the instance they are acquired. What could be better than that? The only downside is their random outcomes per turn. I just wish they don't take a break every now and then.

I used them to defeat Jecht's second form. A Delta Attack for 80000+ damage and Cindy's physical attack for 40000+ damage did the trick. When they got possessed by Yu Yevon, Anima's Oblivion disposed them with ease.

Mindy's kinda cute.

Day 26 - Favorite Race

Okay... I have no idea what will be my basis for this. I think my basis will be Final fantasy Tactics Advance.

My favorite race is... humans! Why? They got the invaluable Ninja job which learns Double Sword. They also got the Blue Mage and the Hunter. I had my character be a Paladin class and have him use Double Sword. I equipped two Excaliburs / Excalibur + Save the Queen and Dash Boots. It's wreaking havoc time!

Second would be the Viera for the invaluable Red Mage which learns Doublecasr. Doublecast + Summon = Area Devastation!

Day 25 - Favorite Moogle Version

***Sorry for not posting for several days. I got final exams.

Moogles are also one of the trademarks of Final Fantasy. They are known for their "kupo". Normally, they don't talk, but Mog in Final Fantasy VI can, and Final Fantasy IX moogles also can.

Presenting my favorite moogle... Kupo!

 Mog of Final Fantasy VI.

The first playable moogle ever! He boasts a high defense and magic defense, making him the fourth member of my Ultima team. Someone has to survive strong attacks. My Ultima team is composed of Terra w/ Gem Box, Celes, Relm and Mog. His dance can be pretty useful in some situations, and it's a free healing in some of his dances.

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Day 24 - Favorite Chocobo Version

Chocobos are one of the trademarks of Final Fantasy. Their main purpose is for transportation. Later games have them involve in sidequests. In Final Fantasy V, chocobos are included in the main story.

My favorite version is the black chocobo of Final Fantasy V. Why? He's the only chocobo that can dance! He can also fly, as flying is its main purpose. He also got a nice chocobo song.

Friday, September 7, 2012

Day 23 - Favorite Couple

Cecil and Rosa

They love each other. Cecil promises to save Rosa after she was taken by Golbez many times. Rosa's theme is "Theme of Love" which makes them more fit for a  love story. In the end, they became husband and wife. They become king and queen of Baron.

Next would be Zidane and Garnet

They seem to hate each other at the start but as the game progresses, their love starts to grow. In the end, Garnet believes Zidane to be dead but she still longs for him. Too great in the ending, they see each other because Zidane lived.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Day 22 - Best Hair

Zell (FFVIII)
Bangs upward! That is the hairstyle that fits my hair. It's just like his! CHICKEN WUSS!

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Day 21 - Best Outfit

Rikku's Default Outfit in Final Fantasy X-2! Just kidding! I hated that outfit.

I like Wakka's beach outfit. I makes me wonder how he survived all those battles in his outfit. They don't look like they're designed for battle. Even in the snow, he uses his sandals without any problem. Maybe armor is too mainstream for him.

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Day 20 - Least Favorite Version of Biggs/Wedge

Biggs and Wedge of Final Fantasy VI

They only appear at the beginning and the play a very small part.

They can be used in battle, but I KO'ed both of them with Terra's Fire so she can have all the EXP and make her way on the cave easy. Besides, the guards fall on Bio Blast and Whelk fell down in 3 TekMissiles.

Monday, September 3, 2012

Day 19 - Favorite Version of Biggs/Wedge

Biggs and Wedge are also recurring characters. They appear either as allies, enemies or neutral characters.

These are my favorite. They appear in Final Fantasy VIII. This duo is fun to fight. They're like idiots.

Sunday, September 2, 2012

Day 18 - Least Favorite Version of Sarah

I'm stuck to two choices, both of them minor characters.

Here's my least favorite.
The original Princess Sarah. Why? What did she do in the story? She just gave the lute and she's out of the story.

The last choice I've got is Sarah Altney (FFIII) which I put in between because she plays a role in the story, by fighting Djinn and by helping fight the curse of the five wyrms.

Saturday, September 1, 2012

Day 17 - Favorite Version of Sarah

Sarah, just like Cid, is also a recurring character in the Final Fantasy Series. From all the games I've played, there are only three choices. So here is my favorite:

Princess Garnet of Final Fantasy IX. Wait, what?

Princess Garnet's real name is Sarah, mentioned in the Eidolon Wall on Disc 4.

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Day 16 - Least Favorite Version of Cid

My least favorite version of Cid is...

Cid Highwind of FFVII

Though he is playable, I disliked him because he is foul-mouthed.

Day 15 - Favorite Version of Cid

Cid appears in FFI-FFX as a recurring character. My favorite version is

Cid Del Norte Marquez from FFVI

For me, he has the best story. Too bad I made him die by accident in the World of Ruin.

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Day 14 - Favorite "Cheerful Girl"

Here's my top 3 for "cheerful girl"

1. Eiko (FFIX)

2. Krile (FFV)

3. Relm (FFVI)

Monday, August 27, 2012

Day 13 - Least Favorite Temporary Character

My least favorite temporary character is...

Banon from Final Fantasy VI

He's pathetically weak. Low attack and low defense. What's more? He's not allowed to be KO'ed. Else it's game over. He's only useful for his pray, which heals the party. The problem is he can easily be knocked out by Ultros because of his low level.

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Day 12 - Favorite Temporary Character

My favorite temporary character is...

General Beatrix of Final Fantasy 9.

For me she is the strongest temporary character. Her attack and Seiken are devastating, and combined with White magic for emergencies, makes her an offensive character that can also support. Her only downside is her little MP pool and her high MP Seiken.

Unfortunately, she is only used for a VERY SHORT time.

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Day 11 - Least Favorite Boss Battle

This is my least favorite boss battle. This battle is from Final Fantasy III. The main tactic based from the guides is to have all in Dragoon job then have all of them Jump. It took me five tries before I finally won the battle. It's the thunder spell which makes the battle hard because 2 hits from this spell can kill a character. Even with Jump, the attack can still miss, making it even harder.

The battle is mostly based on luck, whether you jump first or you'll be hit by thunder first..

Day 10 - Favorite Boss Battle

My favorite boss battle is...

The final battle with The Emperor of Final Fantasy II

It's my favorite because I'VE GOT THE BLOOD SWORD! F*CK YEAH!

Friday, August 24, 2012

Day 9 - Least Favorite Villain

My least favorite villain is...

Ultimecia of Final Fantasy VIII.

What can she do? Possess other people. Compress time. That's it?
She lacks her own story. Most of her story is from other characters she possessed. The player won't even know who the real villain is until disc 3, where Ultimecia is revealed.

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Day 8 - Favorite Villain

My favorite villain is...

Kefka of Final Fantasy VI

Who would you have thought to be a villain? A crazy guy who hungers for power. He has a lot of encounters which makes him an exciting boss. He has his notorious laugh and his funny quotes.

  • Son of a Submariner!
  • "Wait," he says... Do I look like a waiter?
He is also a crazy villain in Dissidia, and he looks like a clown, making him look crazier. He's so crazy the last thing he knows is to destroy everything.

For me, he deserves a LOL meme.

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Day 7 - Least Favorite Character

My least favorite character is...

Strago Magus of Final Fantasy VI.

For me, he's a weakling. For the first reason, he's a blue mage and must be hit with the spell to learn blue magic. Though he has high magic stat, Terra and Celes surpasses him. For me, using magic than lore is more useful.

Monday, August 20, 2012
