Day 47 - Favorite Mini Game

Blitzball (Final Fantasy X)

It is so addicting. Recruit players, win battles, learn new moves, obtain Wakka's overdrives, create an unbeatable team. What could be better than that?

I already got my unbeatable team. I got Tidus and Shaami for forward, Svanda for midfielder, Wedge and Naida for defense, and Miyu for goalie. I was hoping I could get Nimrook for goalie but he still doesn't retire from the Al Bhed.

I like to make them reach level 100 and that is where the real fun of Blitzball begins.

Also, Jecht Shot is a very cheap move for Tidus... I love spamming it.

Day 46 - Favorite White Magic

Holy

I like using Double White Holy for Eiko when in Trance. It really is powerful especially to unded enemies like Lich.

In Final Fantasy X, the spell Holy, located at the end of Yuna's grid, helped me train Yuna without the need for Aeons. With the Nirvana equipped, she will be powerful even in the Omega Ruins. Holy became my main offense against the last battle with Yu Yevon, since I haven't acquired Lulu's sigil. Just be careful with reflect!

Day 45 - Favorite Black Magic

Ultima

Pierce through magic defense, can't be reflected, can't be shelled. What spell could be better than that?

It's fun using it in Final Fantasy VI. I got this Ultima team. The final battle with Kefka involved casting Ultima and Osmose, and a bit of Cure3.

It is also fun to cast in Final Fantasy VII. Quadra Magic with Mime will do the trick if you don't want the long animations of Kights of the Round.

In Final Fantasy VIII, it is the best magic to junction, giving a lot of boost to whichever stat. If equipped in Elem-Def, the player can absorb all elements.

Day 44 - Least favorite Limit Break System

Trance (Final Fantasy IX)

You can't even decide when Trance will activate. It just activates when the bar is full, be it on a random battle or a boss battle. What's worse, it happens for a few turns only, then it's time to charge it up again.

Day 43 - Favorite Limit Break System

Final fantasy VIII Limit Break System

Why? It's unlimited! If HP is critical, Limit Break all the way! It's kinda dangerous though. Go for plan b.

Plan B: Use Aura, the Limit Break all the way.

Note: Extra fun with Renzokuken, Duel and Shot.

Day 42 - Least Favorite Limit Break

Slots - Cait Sith (Final Fantasy VII)

There are some useful combinations, yes, but there are also bad luck combinations like the Death Joker. Transformation may be useful, but is disadvantageous because you only fight as one. There is a video I found where transformation gives a game over.

***** I do not own the video *****

Day 41 - Favorite Limit Break

Duel - Zell - Final Fantasy VIII

Armageddon Fist <------- This explains it all. Works best on keyboard.

Day 40 - Least favorite "Power up your character" system

The system in Final Fantasy II (I don't know what it's called)

It only becomes effective once you get the CHNG spell (Swap in remake). It also takes long to master a spell. I can't bear losing MP and spending at the inn at the start because spells are already too expensive in the original version and I still need to buy weapons and armor. What I usually do is just have only Maria learn spells. The rest will be on full offense.

The problem in the Swap technique is... IT DOESN'T WORK IN SOUL OF REBIRTH!

Day 39 - Favorite "Power up your character" system

Junction System (Final Fantasy VIII)

It takes too long to power up your character, and yet it's the most worthy for me. The junction system works best in a low level or a no level up challenge. It's because enemies level up as you do. Just get the right spells, use mid mag rfm high mag rf, or whatever rf and you're set. In a no level game with good junction, I can take down a boss with a Renzokuken w/o the finisher move.

Day 38 - Favorite Battle System

Conditional Turn-Based Battle (Final Fantasy X)

Hey! What's the rush? You press so fast. No more! In CTB, there is no need to rush. You can also plan ahead on your actions. But this battle system makes me miss the ATB because I miss my fast hands.

Day 37 - Least Favorite Monster

Actually I got two of them.

Malboro

I hate their bad breath. A lot of status effects will give you a high chance of losing. They also are very tough.

Tonberry

I don't mind their knife ability since I can destroy them even before they use it. My problem is the Everyone's Grudge (Karma). Even a low level game in FF8, Everyone's Grudge deals more than 1000 damage. How?
I only killed boss enemies. Maybe it's related to the number of enemies hit with Card. I don't know what.

Day 35 - Least Favorite Optional Boss

Ruby Weapon (Final Fantasy VII)

It takes too long to defeat him, and there is no break damage limit yet. To deal high amounts of damage, Knights of the Round may be used, but the long animation, and the Ultima counterattack. I used W-summon Hades w/ Quadra Magic and Knights of the Round w/ HP Absorb, Counter (blue) with Mime, Life2 w/ Final Attack and Some HP Plus, Magic Plus and Speed Plus.

How many sandwiches will I be able to make in this battle?

Day 34 - Favorite Optional Boss

Omega Weapon (Final Fantasy VIII)

He is a superboss, but he got a weakness. He uses a move pattern. Just be familiar with his moves, learn to counterattack them, and BOOM! You win. I defeated him without using invincible moon or heroes or holy wars. I used Squall, Zell and Irvine in this battle.

Day 33 - Favorite Castle

Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy VI)

It's a high tech castle! Son of a submariner! It can initiate dive mode to hide under the sand.

Day 32 - Least Favorite Form of Transportation

Balamb Garden (Final Fantasy VIII)

It moves so slow. I got annoyed while searching for the White SEED Ship because it's slow and the destination is hard to find. I use fast forward in ePSXe whenever I ride this.

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Day 31 - Favorite Mode of Transportation

Airship! Speedy travels... well, except for Final Fantasy VIII because the Ragnarok is so slow. Too bad not all areas can be accessed with the airship. If only the gold chocobo of Final Fantasy VII moves fast, I would pick that.

Day 30 - Lest Favorite Job

Scholar (Final Fantasy III NES Version)

They literally suck. They have only one use in the game, and that is the battle with Hyne. Their attack suck, they can't use magic, and their skill is Peep, which is the Libra spell with no MP cost, since they have no MP.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Day 29 - Favorite Job

My favorite job is the warrior/fighter. It's a classic job.

"I like swords."
              -Fighter McWarrior

Day 28 - Least Favorite Summon

Eden (Final Fantasy VIII)

I don't care if she can break the damage limit and deal massive amount of damage. Watching the summon sequence is not worth the time, as I can whip up that amount of damage with limit breaks. Although the damage can't reach hers, the time used is what matters. Let's say the summon time is 72.6 seconds. How many limit breaks will I be able to execute? It might exceed the damage dealt by Eden. Eden, say hello to Lionheart, Duel, Shot, Wishing Star, Shockwave Pulsar and The End. You mad, sis?

Day 27 - Favorite Summon

Summons started out in Final Fantasy III. They use three different attacks per summon. On the later games, most summons have a fixed attack. In Final Fantasy X, aeons have their own stats and commands, and their recurring ability falls under the overdrive (Ifrit, Shiva and Bahamut).

Here is my favorite summon:

The Magus Sisters of Final Fantasy X.

Three different aeons, summoned together, with their own turns. Overpowered, and breaks damage limit in the instance they are acquired. What could be better than that? The only downside is their random outcomes per turn. I just wish they don't take a break every now and then.

I used them to defeat Jecht's second form. A Delta Attack for 80000+ damage and Cindy's physical attack for 40000+ damage did the trick. When they got possessed by Yu Yevon, Anima's Oblivion disposed them with ease.

Mindy's kinda cute.

Day 26 - Favorite Race

Okay... I have no idea what will be my basis for this. I think my basis will be Final fantasy Tactics Advance.

My favorite race is... humans! Why? They got the invaluable Ninja job which learns Double Sword. They also got the Blue Mage and the Hunter. I had my character be a Paladin class and have him use Double Sword. I equipped two Excaliburs / Excalibur + Save the Queen and Dash Boots. It's wreaking havoc time!

Second would be the Viera for the invaluable Red Mage which learns Doublecasr. Doublecast + Summon = Area Devastation!

Day 25 - Favorite Moogle Version

***Sorry for not posting for several days. I got final exams.

Moogles are also one of the trademarks of Final Fantasy. They are known for their "kupo". Normally, they don't talk, but Mog in Final Fantasy VI can, and Final Fantasy IX moogles also can.

Presenting my favorite moogle... Kupo!

 Mog of Final Fantasy VI.

The first playable moogle ever! He boasts a high defense and magic defense, making him the fourth member of my Ultima team. Someone has to survive strong attacks. My Ultima team is composed of Terra w/ Gem Box, Celes, Relm and Mog. His dance can be pretty useful in some situations, and it's a free healing in some of his dances.

Saturday, September 8, 2012

Day 24 - Favorite Chocobo Version

Chocobos are one of the trademarks of Final Fantasy. Their main purpose is for transportation. Later games have them involve in sidequests. In Final Fantasy V, chocobos are included in the main story.

My favorite version is the black chocobo of Final Fantasy V. Why? He's the only chocobo that can dance! He can also fly, as flying is its main purpose. He also got a nice chocobo song.

Day 23 - Favorite Couple

Cecil and Rosa

They love each other. Cecil promises to save Rosa after she was taken by Golbez many times. Rosa's theme is "Theme of Love" which makes them more fit for a  love story. In the end, they became husband and wife. They become king and queen of Baron.

Next would be Zidane and Garnet

They seem to hate each other at the start but as the game progresses, their love starts to grow. In the end, Garnet believes Zidane to be dead but she still longs for him. Too great in the ending, they see each other because Zidane lived.

Day 22 - Best Hair

Zell (FFVIII)
Bangs upward! That is the hairstyle that fits my hair. It's just like his! CHICKEN WUSS!

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

Day 21 - Best Outfit

Rikku's Default Outfit in Final Fantasy X-2! Just kidding! I hated that outfit.

I like Wakka's beach outfit. I makes me wonder how he survived all those battles in his outfit. They don't look like they're designed for battle. Even in the snow, he uses his sandals without any problem. Maybe armor is too mainstream for him.

Day 20 - Least Favorite Version of Biggs/Wedge

Biggs and Wedge of Final Fantasy VI

They only appear at the beginning and the play a very small part.

They can be used in battle, but I KO'ed both of them with Terra's Fire so she can have all the EXP and make her way on the cave easy. Besides, the guards fall on Bio Blast and Whelk fell down in 3 TekMissiles.

Monday, September 3, 2012

Day 19 - Favorite Version of Biggs/Wedge

Biggs and Wedge are also recurring characters. They appear either as allies, enemies or neutral characters.

These are my favorite. They appear in Final Fantasy VIII. This duo is fun to fight. They're like idiots.

Day 18 - Least Favorite Version of Sarah

I'm stuck to two choices, both of them minor characters.

Here's my least favorite.
The original Princess Sarah. Why? What did she do in the story? She just gave the lute and she's out of the story.

The last choice I've got is Sarah Altney (FFIII) which I put in between because she plays a role in the story, by fighting Djinn and by helping fight the curse of the five wyrms.

Day 17 - Favorite Version of Sarah

Sarah, just like Cid, is also a recurring character in the Final Fantasy Series. From all the games I've played, there are only three choices. So here is my favorite:

Princess Garnet of Final Fantasy IX. Wait, what?

Princess Garnet's real name is Sarah, mentioned in the Eidolon Wall on Disc 4.
